Novels Completed in the 3 Day Novel Contest

About 3 Day Novels

The Annual 3 Day Novel Contest is a literary marathon conducted over the Labour Day Weekend every year for the past 35 years. I have entered 5 times but only completed my novel attempt 3 of those. The novels completed are on the shorter side, but were fully written in the 72 hour window allotted.

Floreana Post (2019)

My attempt to write a book "my wife would want to read". This whirlwind world tour finds the protagonist bounding from one misadventure to another across Europe after a fateful encounter with the "most charming mailbox in the world" on the island of Floreana.

487 Minutes (2017)

A gritty adrenaline ride with a twist ending, 487 minutes tells three sides of an unintended hostage taking. The police outside trying to rescue the hostage, the unintentional hostage taker struggling to keep his sanity as his world comes apart, and the hostage themself making the choice between escape or helping their captor make it out alive...

The Remarkable Life of William Atherton (2015)

When illegal science creates the world's first genetically augmented human, their life and the lives of those around them take an unbelievable trajectory that brings them into conflict with the forces of history, ignorance, and challenges what it means to be truly human.

Haajmat (2018, unsuccessful)

Half of the way through this post-apocalyptic adventure novel, I hit a wall and couldn't get my characters out of their bind. So this one sits unfinished.
